Beach huts budget
Beach huts: your budget, hour by hour
Your amount and your hours. A break between huts. Nothing leaves this page.
$20 an hour
Arrive Saturday 7 PM, leave at 10 PM.
Local buses run 7 AM to 9 PM.
With scripts on, this planner splits an amount into hourly huts and checks your leaving time against the floor hours (to 2 AM; Fridays and Saturdays, 4 AM) and the local buses (7 AM to 9 PM).
A plan made at home
Decide two things at the kitchen table, not on the casino floor: the amount you can spend and the hour you head home. Think of that amount as spent, not as something to win back. Closing time is 2 AM, or 4 AM on Friday and Saturday, so don't count on the clock to send you home. Wasaga Beach Transit's local routes run daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which makes the ride home part of the plan. If you plan to go on a holiday, call the casino first, since it publishes no holiday hours.
Two lines open at any hour, plus one site
- ConnexOntario handles gambling, mental health and addiction, 24/7 and at no cost. By phone it's 1-866-531-2600, by text it's the word CONNEX sent to 247247, and online there is a chat at connexontario.ca.
- In a crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide Crisis Helpline. The line is open 24/7.
- PlaySmart is OLG's responsible gambling service, found at playsmart.ca.
Taking a break
For Ontario casinos, self-exclusion goes through OLG's program, called My PlayBreak. The length of the casino break is your call: 3 months, 6 months, or a stretch of 1 to 5 years. For that whole stretch it bars entry to every Ontario casino, Wasaga Beach included, and it cannot be cancelled early. The OLG Support Centre handles enrolment at 1-800-387-0098, and staff at a casino can take your request too.
Online play has its own tool. With BetGuard (betguard.ca, run by iGaming Ontario), anyone 19 or older blocks every Ontario-regulated online gambling site in one move, OLG.ca included. Land-based casinos sit outside it, so stepping away from both means joining both programs.
Quick questions
Is ConnexOntario open at night?
Yes, it answers 24/7 at no cost. Ring 1-866-531-2600, message 247247 with the word CONNEX, or use the chat at connexontario.ca.
Can a casino break be ended ahead of time?
No, a My PlayBreak casino break cannot be cancelled early. It lasts the full 3 or 6 months, or the 1 to 5 years you picked, so choose the length with care.
Does BetGuard cover casinos?
No. BetGuard only reaches regulated Ontario online gambling sites, OLG.ca among them, and land-based casinos sit outside it. For the casino on Joseph Drive and every other Ontario casino, My PlayBreak is the program to use.
